Court extends remand of skit maker ‘Trinity Guy’ and victim’s parents in prison

A skit maker known as Trinity Guy, whose real name is Maruf Abdullahi, has been ordered by a family court in Iyaganku, Ibadan to be kept in Agodi Correction Centre until August 31.

The court is hearing a case where Abdullahi, along with the parents of a ten-year-old girl, has been charged by the police with conspiracy and sexual abuse/exploitation.

The magistrate, P. O. Adetuyibi, made the decision to keep Abdullahi, 31, and the parents, Isiaka Ahmed, 40, and Rofiat Ahmed, 29, in remand at Agodi.

The prosecution counsel, Oluwakemi Arowosaye, informed the court that the accused individuals allegedly conspired to sexually abuse the young girl on December 17, 2022, at Kuola area in Ibadan.

The offenses are in violation of the state’s Child Rights Law 2006, Section 35(1) and punishable under Section 35(2), as well as Section 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.
