Nigeria has claimed victory in the 2023 African U-21 Nations Women’s Volleyball Championship Zone 3 held in Niamey, Niger Republic.

In the final match on Sunday night, Nigeria triumphed over Ghana with a resounding 3-0 victory (25-10, 25-15, 25-10), securing the championship title.

The Nigerian team showcased their dominance throughout the tournament, starting with a 3-0 win (25-11, 25-15, 25-8) against Ghana in their opening match.

They continued their winning streak with another 3-0 victory (25-4, 25-11, 25-4) against hosts Niger and a dominant performance of 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-9) against Benin Republic.

Coach Rakiya Mohammed expressed gratitude for the team’s success and credited God for their historic achievement.

With this victory, Nigeria has also secured qualification for the upcoming world championship in Thailand. The team is expected to return to Nigeria today.
