The decomposing body of Humphrey Nnaji, a construction engineer based in Abuja, has been discovered in his residence in the Dawaki area of the Federal Capital Territory.

Reports indicate that Nnaji was present in his home when unidentified individuals gained access, killed him, and fled the scene.

Neighbors became aware of a foul smell emanating from Nnaji’s apartment on Saturday and promptly alerted the police.

Upon investigation, officers found Nnaji’s remains in a chair within the apartment. Witnesses stated that the corpse had already started decomposing, suggesting that the incident occurred prior to Saturday.

The police discovered a hammer near the body, as well as a note allegedly written by someone claiming to be an individual named Alfa, seeking retribution for the death of his sister and accusing Nnaji of involvement in illicit activities.

The FCT Police Command has confirmed the incident and initiated an ongoing investigation.
