Twitter restricts TweetDeck access to verified users

Twitter has recently made an announcement stating that starting next month, their popular program called TweetDeck, which enables users to monitor multiple accounts simultaneously, will only be available to “verified” users.

This move comes as the social media company, now owned by billionaire Elon Musk since last year, seeks ways to generate profit.

In its efforts to increase revenue, Twitter has been reducing its workforce and emphasizing paid subscriptions.

Typically, Twitter’s verified users are individuals who have paid to obtain a blue check mark on their profiles.

However, Musk has also granted this verification to certain users, and some have inherited it from the previous management.

TweetDeck, which was launched over ten years ago, presents messages in columns and operates differently in terms of search and posting compared to the website or app.

Twitter released a support message on Monday, revealing the introduction of a new version of TweetDeck with various added features.

The message also stated that in 30 days, only verified users will have access to TweetDeck.

Over the weekend, a series of changes implemented by Twitter caused issues for many TweetDeck users, preventing them from viewing posts.

Twitter acquired London-based TweetDeck in 2011 for an estimated price of $40 million, according to technology media reports at the time.
