A man wearing a bullet-proof vest went on a shooting spree in Philadelphia, resulting in the deaths of five people and leaving two children injured.

The 40-year-old suspect, armed with an AR-15-style rifle, a handgun, and ammunition, has been taken into custody.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, as the victims had no known connection to the assailant.

Police responded to the incident in the city’s Kingsessing area and engaged in a foot chase with the suspect while gunshots continued to ring out.
