Bus conductor receives three month prison sentence for assaulting police officer

Benjamin Joseph, 32, was convicted after a report was filed by the officer in charge of traffic, stating that Joseph had caused traffic obstruction and assaulted a police officer who tried to intervene.

The prosecution counsel presented the case, and Magistrate Shawomi Bokkos handed down the sentence, stating that it would serve as a deterrent for future offenders.

The sentence was imposed under the Plateau State Penal Code Law, and the defendant pleaded guilty. No option for a fine was given in the ruling.
