During a recent interview with The Beat 99.9 FM, Lagos, popular singer Simi shared the story of how her husband, Adekunle Gold, won her over through his persistence in the early days of their careers.

Simi revealed that Adekunle Gold, affectionately known as AG Baby, had been sending her messages on Facebook for a long time, but she hadn’t noticed until they started dating.

She recalled the moment they finally met at one of her concerts and how Adekunle Gold’s “niceness” convinced her to consider dating him months later.

The couple dated for five years before tying the knot in 2019.

Simi expressed that although she was already known in the gospel community, Adekunle Gold had heard her album at that time and had been trying to reach out to her.

Eventually, they connected again, and their friendship grew from there.
