A devastating fire broke out at Sopurum Hotel in the Nkwelle community of Onitsha, Anambra State.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, resulting in significant damage to a substantial portion of the hotel structure.

Fire service personnel from Delta and Anambra states swiftly responded to the scene and are currently battling the flames.

According to DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, the situation is now under control.

He assured that upon receiving the information, police officers were promptly dispatched to the area, securing it from potential acts of vandalism.
