Anambra woman sets policewoman and children ablaze

A disturbing incident unfolded in Anambra State, where a woman named Nnaemaka Nwosu allegedly committed a horrifying act by setting a policewoman and her two children on fire.

The tragic event occurred in the Nnokwa community of Idemili South Local Government Area.

The suspect, who had previously been divorced and left homeless, sought help from the policewoman, who kindly offered her accommodation in her own home.

However, a disagreement between the two escalated into a physical altercation, leading the suspect to strike the policewoman with a pestle until she lost consciousness.

Subsequently, the suspect tied the policewoman and her children together and set them ablaze, burning both them and the house.

The commotion attracted the attention of local vigilantes and villagers who managed to capture the suspect as she tried to flee.

Initially, the suspect falsely claimed that a gas cylinder had exploded during the incident, but later confessed to her horrific crime and provided details on how she carried it out.

The Anambra State Police spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the tragic incident.

The suspect has been apprehended, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka for further investigation.

The bodies of the policewoman and her children have been taken to the morgue.

Preliminary information suggests that the policewoman had offered temporary shelter to the suspect, but their disagreement escalated into a violent confrontation, resulting in the unimaginable tragedy.
