Inter Milan secures French forward, Marcus Thuram in major signing

Inter Milan announced the signing of French striker Marcus Thuram on a free transfer.

The 25-year-old, son of World Cup winner Lilian Thuram, agreed to a five-year contract with the Serie A club, reportedly worth €6.5 million per season.

Thuram joins Inter Milan after a successful season with Borussia Moenchengladbach in the Bundesliga, where he scored 13 goals.

He became a free agent at the end of the campaign. Thuram’s decision to join Inter Milan means he will partner with Lautaro Martinez up front, replacing Edin Dzeko who recently signed with Fenerbahce.

Interestingly, Marcus Thuram was born in Parma, where his father played and achieved success.

Lilian Thuram had hoped his son would pursue fencing or judo, but Marcus chose a career in football instead.

Marcus Thuram also experienced disappointment in the World Cup, as France lost to Argentina in the thrilling final.

Despite his signing, Thuram may face competition from Romelu Lukaku for a place in Inter Milan’s starting lineup, as discussions are underway for Lukaku to remain with the team after his loan from Chelsea ends.
