The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced on Monday that the European Union Election Observation Mission has submitted its conclusive findings regarding this year’s general elections.

The INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, along with the National Commissioners of the electoral body, received the EU Mission.

According to a tweet from INEC, the European Union Election Observation Mission presented its final report on the 2023 general elections to the commission.

The report, published on February 27, 2023, highlighted a lack of transparency during the elections, which led to a decline in public trust in INEC.

The EU report also mentioned that the public’s confidence in INEC’s impartiality, expertise, and efforts to provide voter information had diminished even before February 25.
