In his first interview since his departure from CNN, former anchor Don Lemon has alleged that he was fired because he refused to give airtime to “liars and bigots” on his news programs.

Speaking to ABC24 Memphis, Lemon emphasized his commitment to honest reporting and upholding the principles of the Constitution.

He stated that he felt a responsibility, not just as a journalist but also as an American citizen, to tell the truth and contribute to building a more perfect union.

According to Lemon, his disagreement with CNN’s now-dismissed CEO, Chris Licht, stemmed from Licht’s intention to feature more conservative voices on the network.

Lemon expressed his refusal to provide a platform to individuals spreading misinformation, denying election results, or engaging in insurrection, asserting that he believes in standing up for truth and what is right.
