A 32-year-old man, Daniel Udoh, has been remanded in the Olokuta Correctional Centre in Akure, Ondo State, following allegations of sexual abuse and exploitation of a 3-year-old girl.

The Family Court in Oke-Eda issued the order after Udoh was charged with one count of sexual abuse.

According to the prosecuting police officer, Udoh committed the offenses on June 12, 2023, when he sexually abused and exploited the minor in his apartment.

The victim’s mother reportedly caught him in the act. The charges against Udoh contravene the Child’s Rights Law of Ondo State, 2006.

Udoh pleaded not guilty, and the case is set for mention.
