The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has refuted claims that it extended an invitation to former Governor Nyesom Wike to join the party.

The APC categorically dismissed such claims and referred to those making them as imposters.

The party, through its spokesperson, Darlington Nwauju, asserted that Wike himself had previously referred to the APC as a cancer and was unlikely to associate with the Rivers State APC.

Nwauju highlighted the violence experienced by APC members during Wike’s tenure as evidence of their irreconcilable differences.

The APC distanced itself from any supposed stakeholders’ meeting advocating for Wike’s inclusion, challenging anyone to produce video evidence of Wike openly campaigning for the APC in the recent election.

While reaffirming its unwavering support for the policies of President Bola Tinubu’s government, the APC cautioned against the use of its name by individuals seeking personal gain from desperate politicians seeking relevance at the national level.
