Nigerian artist Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burnaboy, emerged victorious at the 2023 Black Entertainment Awards (BET) as he claimed the esteemed title of Best International Act.

Amongst fierce competition from artists such as Ayra Starr, Central Cee, and Stormzy, Burnaboy’s triumph signified a remarkable achievement.

Although Burna Boy was present at the event, it was his mother, Bose Ogulu, who accepted the award on his behalf.

Burnaboy’s success has been consistently evident over the past few years. His globally acclaimed 2022 album, ‘Love, Damini,’ garnered widespread recognition.

Moreover, Burnaboy previously secured the BET Award in the same category in both 2019 and 2021.

The category’s other notable nominees encompassed Aya Nakamura, Ayra Starr, Central Cee, Ella Mai, K.O, L7nnon, Stormzy, Tiakola, and Uncle Waffles.
