Two individuals have been apprehended by detectives following the tragic death of a 76-year-old Nigerian woman, Mrs. Nelly Akomah, at her residence in south London.

The incident is believed to be related to a suspected burglary. Mrs. Akomah was found with fatal injuries on Wednesday, June 21, prompting the immediate response of the police.

Reports from neighbors in Croydon’s Ladbrook Road suggest that the CCTV security systems at her property were tampered with prior to the attack.

A 28-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were arrested at Stansted Airport in the early hours of Friday, June 23, on suspicion of murder.

The investigation is being led by the Specialist Crime Command, and authorities are urging anyone with information about suspicious activities in the area to come forward.

Mrs. Akomah, who served as the leader of the Nigerian Methodist Mission UK and Ireland, was described as a beloved and active member of her church community.
