Low sales and high prices plague Sallah ram Traders, sparking concerns

Ram sellers at the Kara market along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway expressed their dissatisfaction with the low sales, attributing it to the prevailing economic conditions and the sudden surge in transportation costs for the animals from the northern region.

With the festive occasion approaching, many Muslim faithful voiced concerns about the scarcity of affordable rams for the celebration.

The sellers cited the substantial increase in transportation expenses from the North as the primary reason for the inflated prices this year, making it unaffordable for many buyers.

Both sellers and buyers called on the Federal Government to address the difficulties caused by the removal of fuel subsidy, which they believed had further exacerbated the situation.
