FRSC retrieves 28 stolen vehicles in Kaduna state

The Kaduna State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) announced the successful recovery and return of 28 stolen cars to their respective owners within the state.

Mr. Zubairu Mato, the FRSC Sector Commander, shared this information during a sensitization and enlightenment campaign for drivers ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir festivity in the state.

To combat the rising incidents of car theft, the FRSC will enforce the requirement for drivers to provide proof of ownership for their vehicles.

Mato highlighted the importance of proper vehicle registration under the upcoming National Vehicle Identification Scheme, emphasizing that this measure would aid in identifying stolen vehicles and apprehending culprits.

Mato also discussed the decrease in road traffic crashes in the state, citing approximately 300 deaths from crashes since January, which indicated a decline compared to previous years.

He attributed these accidents to overspeeding and negligence of road signs, urging drivers to exercise caution, particularly as some road sections were still under construction.

The sensitization campaign, primarily targeting commercial drivers ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir festivity, aimed to minimize road accidents.

The FRSC Corps Marshal, Dauda Biu, emphasized responsible driving and vehicle maintenance during festive periods.
