Tesla CEO Elon Musk has expressed his intentions to bring the electric car manufacturer to India “as soon as humanly possible.”
This statement follows a meeting between Musk and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is currently on a state visit to the United States.
The Indian government extended an invitation to Musk to explore investment opportunities in the electric mobility and commercial space sectors.
Musk acknowledged that he is in the process of determining the right timing for Tesla’s entry into India.
He also praised PM Modi, stating that India holds great promise and that he intends to make significant investments in the country.
Tesla has been engaged in discussions with Indian officials and ministers to establish a presence in the domestic market.
The company had previously shelved its plans to enter India due to disagreements over local manufacturing requirements.
Musk also expressed his hopes of bringing the Starlink satellite internet service, operated by SpaceX, to India, emphasizing the potential for a substantial investment in the country.
