Chelsea has completed the signing of French forward Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig in a transfer worth £52 million.

This marks Chelsea’s first completed deal of the summer and brings their total transfer spend since January 2023 to £375 million.

Nkunku, a former Paris Saint-Germain player, has agreed to a six-year contract with Chelsea, which will be effective from July 1 and run until June 2029.

The 25-year-old expressed his delight at joining the club and his eagerness to prove himself to Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea’s new coach.

Nkunku had an impressive record at RB Leipzig, scoring 47 goals and providing 43 assists in 119 Bundesliga games.
