Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has revealed intentions to address the existing job vacancies within the education, health, and other sub-sectors of the state.
This announcement came during the commencement of staff audits across the public service, starting with the biometric capture of the governor himself, the Deputy Governor, and the Speaker of the House of Assembly.
According to a statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the data capturing process was preceded by a meeting with state labor leaders to ensure the protection and fulfillment of the interests of all stakeholders.
Governor Adeleke emphasized that the staff audit was not intended to target anyone, but rather aimed to strengthen the government’s ability to meet the needs of workers, the public, and the state’s leadership.
The governor highlighted the goals of the audit, which include cleaning up the payroll system, verifying the actual number of state employees, and identifying areas with job vacancies across different sectors.
