Russia cimbs to fourth place as India’s top trading partner

India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry has reported that Russia has risen from the fifth to the fourth position among India’s largest trading partners.

The trade turnover between the two countries has experienced a substantial increase, reaching $21.8 billion from January to April 2023, which is 3.8 times higher than before.

Imports from Russia to India have grown significantly, surging by 4.2 times to reach $20.5 billion during the same period.

On the other hand, Indian exports to Russia saw a 1.6-fold increase, amounting to $1.3 billion.

Despite these developments, China and the United States continue to remain India’s primary trading partners.

Ruslan Davydov, the acting head of the Russian Federal Customs Service, previously mentioned that China, India, Turkey, and Azerbaijan have replaced the European Union in Russia’s foreign trade.
