Police arrest woman following boyfriend’s death during marathon sex

The Rivers State Police Command has apprehended a woman in relation to the demise of a barber, popularly known as Otubong, at his residence on Osina Street, Mile 2 Diobu, in Port Harcourt.

Sources indicate that the lady, aware of the police pursuit following Otubong’s death during their reported sexual encounter, surrendered herself at the Azikiwe Police Division located at Illabuchi, Port Harcourt.

Upon her arrival at the police station, the lady was promptly arrested and detained, as authorities had been searching for her.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the arrest, stating that investigations are currently underway.

Afudoza Stephens, Vice Chairman of the Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign, urged the police to conduct a thorough investigation while ensuring that the woman does not face unwarranted stigmatization.

She emphasized that engaging in a consensual adult relationship is not illegal in Rivers State, and the woman should not be ostracized simply because her lover’s death occurred during a sexual encounter.

Stephens called for a discreet investigation to determine her involvement and demanded her release if found not culpable.

Reports indicate that Otubong had consumed sexual enhancement drugs before the incident, and he passed away during the sexual activity.
