Pastor faces charges for allegedly defrauding Kwara university of N19.3m

An associate pastor of the Living Faith Church, Temidayo Eseyin, has been arraigned by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly defrauding Landmark University, Kwara State, of N19.3 million.

Eseyin, a lawyer and former member of the Nigerian Bar Association’s Disciplinary Committee in Ilorin, was charged with four counts related to misappropriation of funds belonging to the university.

According to the EFCC, Eseyin had access to the university’s properties, title documents, and funds in his capacity as their attorney.

One of the alleged offenses involved Eseyin managing a property owned by the university and collecting rent for eight years without accounting for it.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges. The court granted him bail in the sum of N10 million with two sureties who must have landed property within the court’s jurisdiction.

The case was adjourned, and Eseyin was remanded in EFCC custody until his bail conditions are met.
