British intelligence services have reported that Russia has expanded its defense installations in the occupied territories of Ukraine, with a particular focus on the Crimean peninsula.
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) in London revealed this information, stating that Russia has established an extensive 9-kilometer zone of defenses north of the town of Armyansk and fortified the narrow bridge connecting Crimea to the Kherson region.
These sophisticated defensive positions indicate Russia’s belief that Ukrainian forces are capable of launching a direct attack on Crimea.
The MoD emphasized that Russia considers maintaining control over the peninsula as a top political priority.
Fierce fighting has continued in various frontline areas in southern Ukraine. Moscow has accused London of disseminating disinformation.
