Woman arrested for stabbing 12 year old girl in Rivers

The Rivers State Police have apprehended a woman named Abigail for a distressing incident in Rumuodara, Ohio/Akpor Local Government Area.

On Saturday, Abigail allegedly stabbed a 12-year-old girl, Oluebube, and left the knife lodged in the victim’s body.

Oluebube resides in the same compound as Abigail, and the altercation arose from a minor incident.

According to Oluebube’s sister, Olucho, the confrontation began when Abigail was accidentally splashed with water by Oluebube.

The argument escalated, and Abigail started physically assaulting the young girl, despite pleas from neighbors to show mercy.

Eventually, Abigail ordered Oluebube to sweep up the spilled water, and as she was doing so, Abigail retrieved a knife and stabbed her.

The knife broke off in Oluebube’s body, prompting immediate medical attention and police intervention.

Abigail attempted to flee but was caught by neighbors and handed over to the authorities.

The police spokesperson, Grace Iringe-koko, confirmed the incident and assured that the knife had been removed, while investigations and medical treatment for Oluebube were underway.

The Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability has called for a comprehensive investigation, urging the police to promptly bring the suspect to court if found guilty during the inquiry.
