The All-Africa Students’ Union has expressed its appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for signing the Students’ Loan Bill, stating that the initiative would bring significant relief to Nigerian members and serve as a model for others.
During a press conference leading up to the 2023 African Students Day, AASU President Osikenyi Osisiogu emphasized the need for Tinubu’s administration to ensure more effective and equitable utilization of public funds for education across Africa.

The union also commended the inauguration of the Dangote Group’s 650,000 barrels per day oil refinery, recognizing its positive impact on Africa’s economic growth and development.
The AASU called on African governments and stakeholders to support Dangote’s endeavors.

They also demanded the release of student leaders detained for their activism and advocacy for improved education systems.
The African Students Day in Addis Ababa aimed to promote children’s rights, particularly access to education, with a focus on addressing the issue of millions of African children lacking educational opportunities in 2023.
