Northern traditional leaders vow to support Tinubu in healthcare initiatives

The Northern Traditional Leaders’ Committee (NTLC) has committed to backing President Bola Tinubu’s administration in the provision of primary healthcare services.

This pledge was made during the NTLC’s Second Quarter Review Meeting held in Abuja, organized by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA).

The meeting served as a platform for engaging traditional leaders on their role and responsibilities in improving primary healthcare delivery in their communities.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, praised Tinubu for his exceptional skills and understanding of the long-standing challenges that have hindered the country’s progress.

He urged unwavering dedication and support from traditional leaders, the new government, and state governors to collectively enhance primary healthcare delivery nationwide.

The Sultan expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to make significant strides in addressing the healthcare challenges faced by the nation through unified efforts and collaboration with the new government.

The Sultan also acknowledged the tireless efforts of the committee in saving and serving humanity. As the committee’s patron, he stressed the importance of continuous support for the government at all levels, emphasizing the significant role traditional leaders play as major stakeholders in the nation’s governance.

With recent changes in government leadership, he highlighted the need to familiarize the new executives with the committee’s work and the importance of promptly briefing them on past activities and the government’s support required for future success.

The Sultan emphasized that state governors must fully support the committee’s endeavors, as they hold responsibility for allowing members from various states to participate in such programs.

He recognized the instrumental commitment of the committee’s members in their achievements so far.

Addressing the challenges ahead, he drew attention to the presence of numerous displaced persons in six states, making it challenging to provide essential healthcare services to them.

However, the Sultan assured attendees that the committee would redouble its efforts to overcome these hurdles.
