Delta local government refutes closure of market for monarch’s rites of passage

Dr. Michael Tidi, Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area in Delta State, has refuted rumors circulating on social media about the planned closure of the popular Igbudu Market in Warri.

Speculations suggested that the market would be shut down on Saturday, June 17, 2023, due to traditional rites of passage for a monarch in the community.

In an official statement released on Friday, Dr. Tidi clarified that the rites of passage for the Ovie of Agbarha, Warri, His Majesty London Orhifi Ememoh II, scheduled for Saturday, would not pose any security threats to traders and customers at Igbudu Market.

The Council Chairman addressed the concerns raised by traders and stakeholders, affirming that the market would remain open for regular business activities.
