Court orders DSS to grant Emefiele access to lawyers and family

Federal High Court Orders DSS to Grant Godwin Emefiele Access to Lawyers and Family A Federal High Court in Abuja has issued a directive to the Department of State Services (DSS) and its Director-General, instructing them to immediately allow the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, unrestricted access to his legal representatives and family members.

The order was given by Justice Hamza Muazu on Friday in response to an application made by J.B. Daudu, Emefiele’s counsel.

Emefiele had been arrested by the DSS following his suspension by President Bola Tinubu.

Emefiele’s legal team had informed the court that they had reached out to the DSS on multiple occasions to facilitate communication with their client, but the DSS had not responded.

Justice Muazu emphasized that it is within Emefiele’s constitutional rights to have access to his lawyers and family members.
