The Labour Party (LP) has submitted over 18,000 polling unit results, claiming they were downloaded from the INEC Result Viewing portal.
These result sheets are intended to support their petition challenging the presidential election held on February 25, 2023.
However, all the documents presented were blurry, according to Onyeachi Ikpeazu, the counsel for LP’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
He explained that the documents became distorted after being downloaded from the INEC website.
During the court proceedings, the LP presented its fourth and fifth witnesses, including Eric Ofuegbu, a professor of Mathematics from Anambra State University.
Ofuegbu presented three reports as evidence, which included an analysis of election scores in Rivers State, another report from Benue State, and a statistical investigation of the presidential candidates’ votes.
These reports, along with the witness statement, were admitted as exhibits despite objections from INEC, Bola Tinubu, Kashim Shettima, and the APC.
Additionally, a video was displayed in court, showing INEC Chairman Mahmoud Yakubu assuring that election results would be transmitted from the over 176,000 polling units and that the I-Rev system would serve as an archive for Nigerians to access the results at any time.
The cross-examination of Ofuegbu has been postponed until Friday.
