Poverty shouldn’t deprive anyone of education – Tinubu

In a meeting held in Abuja on Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu expressed his firm belief that poverty should not hinder any Nigerian from receiving a quality education at the highest levels.

He pledged to allocate more resources to the education sector to ensure that every child in Nigeria, regardless of their background, has access to excellent education.

Tinubu, while receiving the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students, emphasized that education is the most potent weapon against poverty and called for investments in the sector.

He also urged unity and democratic processes among student bodies across the country to achieve more progress.

Tinubu appreciated the students’ support for the removal of petrol subsidy and explained the reasons behind the decision.

The President further assured them that his administration would follow through on its commitments.

The delegation thanked Tinubu for signing the Student Loan Bill into law, which will provide loans to financially disadvantaged students and prevent dropouts due to the inability to pay fees.

They also discussed the inclusion of student representatives in the special committee overseeing the Nigerian Education Loan Fund.
