In a distressing incident, Chief Eyo Edet, a respected member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State, has been forcefully abducted by suspected gunmen.

Widely known as Eyo Aswang, he was taken on Monday from his Filling Station, Eyotech Nigeria Limited, located in the Oron Local Government area.

According to a reliable source, Edet, who served as the Deputy Coordinator of PDP’s Divine Campaign Organisation in Oron during the last election, was ambushed by the abductors and swiftly whisked away in a Sienna car.

The assailants subsequently set fire to the Sienna and transported their captives to a waiting speedboat. As of now, no ransom demands have been made by the kidnappers, and the family awaits their contact.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Odiko Macdon, confirmed the incident, stating that the Commissioner of Police, CP Olatoye Durosinmi, has initiated an investigation into the matter.
