Retired general Buratai extends congratulations to Tinubu

Retired Lt Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai, former Chief of Army Staff and Ambassador to Benin Republic, has extended his congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Nigeria’s Democracy Day.

Buratai expressed his admiration for Tinubu’s journey in championing democracy in Nigeria and hailed his emergence as the 16th democratically elected President as a significant milestone for the country’s enduring democratic progress.

He also commended the resilience of Nigerians in upholding democracy through their votes since 1999.

Buratai expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and his “Renewed Hope Agenda,” emphasizing that it paves the way for Nigeria’s greatness in all aspects of national development.

He paid tribute to the late Chief MKO Abiola, celebrating his selflessness, patriotism, and unity.

Buratai called on the United Nations to declare June 12 as World Democracy Day in recognition of Abiola’s contributions and the ideals he stood for.
