N57 million spent on scholarships and women’s empowerment in Kano

Hon. Shaaban Ibrahim Sharada, the Executive Secretary of the Almajirai and Out-of-School Children Commission of Nigeria, has taken significant steps to promote education and empower young people.

He recently awarded scholarships worth over N7 million to 32 students, enabling them to pursue their academic dreams at the Open University.

Hon. Sharada, who is also a lawmaker representing Kano municipal federal constituency, donated N50 million to Alqalam University.

This generous contribution will benefit students from Kano municipal council who were studying in Sudan but had to relocate due to the crisis there.

The presentation ceremony was attended by representatives from various organizations, including the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, and the National Boundary Commission.

In his address, Sharada expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve as the Executive Secretary of the Almajirai and Out-of-School Children Commission and reassured everyone of his commitment to the commission’s mission.
