In a recent development, the Ogudu Magistrates Court in Lagos has granted bail in the sum of N500,000 to Lekan Wasiu, a 19-year-old teenager who was charged with attempted theft.

Wasiu, a mechanic residing in the Bolar of Ajah area, was accused of attempting to steal a GAC SUV car. Despite pleading not guilty to the charge, the court fixed June 23 for the next mention of the case.

According to the Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Donjour Perezi, the defendant was caught in the act of trying to drive away the vehicle, which was valued at N14 million.

The offence is said to be in violation of Section 406 (2) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
