In the most recent release of the FIFA women’s rankings by FIFA, Nigeria has made progress by moving up two spots.
Previously ranked 42nd in the world, the Super Falcons now stand at 40th, reinforcing their position as the top-ranked team in Africa.
The upward movement in the rankings can be attributed to the team’s commendable performance at an exhibition in Turkey, where they secured three consecutive victories, breaking free from a seven-match winless streak.

South Africa, Morocco, and Zambia will also represent Africa in the women’s World Cup. The subsequent rankings will be unveiled on August 25.
