Former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has issued a warning to Lionel Messi as the Argentine star prepares to join Major League Soccer (MLS) club Inter Miami.

Messi recently signed with Inter Miami as a free agent, turning away from his childhood club Barcelona.

Rooney, currently managing DC United, expressed his hope that Messi’s MLS debut would be against his team.

While acknowledging Messi’s exceptional skills, Rooney emphasized that the MLS is a demanding league and Messi should not expect an effortless transition.

He advised Messi to be prepared for the challenges and adjustments that come with playing in the MLS, stating that it won’t be an easy journey for him.
