Alumni of St. Charles’ school, Osogbo, reward teachers with N1.5m for students’ performance

St. Charles’ School, Osogbo, Old Boys Association, expressed their appreciation to the teaching and non-teaching staff by rewarding them with a sum of N1.5 million.

The recognition was granted in response to the outstanding performance of the students in the recent West African Examination Council (WAEC) Examination.

Mr. Peter Adekunle, the global president of the association, made this announcement during the 50th anniversary celebration of the 1969/1973 sets, alongside the inauguration of an interlocking access road project facilitated by the alumni.

Adekunle emphasized that the gesture aimed to motivate and encourage the staff to continue their commendable work.

He acknowledged that previous student performances had been unsatisfactory, prompting the association to challenge the teachers.

They provided training on Information and Communications Technology, resulting in a remarkable 96% of students achieving five credits in the last WAEC exam.

The association rewarded all the teachers and non-academic staff with N1.5 million and pledged further incentives for improved results in the future.
