Each player of the Super Falcons team stands to earn a substantial sum of $270,000 (equivalent to N125 million) if they emerge as champions in the upcoming 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Even if they exit the tournament at the group stage, each player will still receive a minimum of $30,000 (around N13 million).
This news follows FIFA’s recent announcement of a groundbreaking financial distribution model for the Women’s World Cup, with guaranteed remuneration for participating players and increased support for football development in their respective countries.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed the significance of this new model, stating that it would have a meaningful impact on the lives and careers of the players.
The global players’ union FIFPRO commended FIFA for their commitment to gender equity and equal conditions, including training facilities and transportation, at the tournament.
Infantino has also set a target for equal prize money at the 2026 men’s and 2027 women’s World Cups.
In addition to the player rewards, FIFA member federations, including the Nigeria Football Federation, will also receive significant financial support based on their performance in the tournament.
