The House of Representatives concluded its session on Wednesday without granting approval for the loan request put forward by former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The loan was sought to settle various judgment debts totaling approximately N543,594,989,247.
Ahmed Dayyabu, Chairman of the House Committee on Aids, Loans, and Debt Management, presented the report on the presidential request.

However, the lawmakers decided that further work was needed before making a decision, and the matter was postponed until the next session on the 10th of the House.
Buhari had requested approval to pay off debts amounting to $566,754,584.31, £98,526,012.00, and N226,281,801,881.64 through the issuance of promissory notes.
