A 19-year-old man, Auwal Abdullahi, has been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl named Blessing, whom he claimed to be his girlfriend.

Auwal, a tricycle operator, was apprehended on June 6 and admitted to the rape, although he insisted that Blessing was his girlfriend.

He explained that they had met while selling food, and she collected his phone number and saved it in her friend’s phone.

They arranged to meet later that evening, went to a hotel, and engaged in sexual intercourse.
