Israel commits to partnering with Nigerian government to create one million digital jobs – Ambassador

Ambassador Michael Freeman, the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria and Permanent Representative of Israel to ECOWAS, expressed Israel’s commitment to partnering with Nigeria in achieving the goal of creating one million jobs through the digital economy.

Speaking at the inauguration of the 3rd cohort of the Innovation Fellowship for Aspiring Inventors and Researchers in Abuja, Freeman praised the success of the previous editions of the program, which provided mentorship and support to young Nigerians in turning their ideas into practical businesses.

He emphasized Israel’s leadership in the digital economy and manufacturing investment and stated their willingness to collaborate with President Tinubu’s administration to create an enabling environment for investment and job creation.

Freeman highlighted the importance of human capital and research development in driving economic growth and believed that the I-FAIR program would contribute to job creation and empower a new generation of Nigerian innovators.

The event also witnessed commendations from Iyinoluwa Aboyaji, who acknowledged the fruitful partnership between Nigeria and Israel in commercializing research and development and urged young people to embrace the Innov8Hub program as a pathway to success through innovation and skill development.

The I-FAIR program, a six-month initiative, provides selected participants with resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities to develop products, create prototypes, and attract investors.
