Drug trafficker sentenced to five years in jail for illegal export attempt

Federal High Court Sentences 49-Year-Old Drug Trafficker to Five Years Imprisonment for Attempting to Illegally Export 11.5kg of Cocaine to Saudi Arabia.

Ariyibi Olaseinde pleaded guilty to the charges of conspiracy and illegal drug export filed against him by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.

The convict was apprehended on February 20, 2023, at the Screening Hall of Terminal 11 in the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.

Acting on information, authorities discovered the cocaine during the clearance process for a Qatar Airways flight bound for Medina, Saudi Arabia via Doha.

Alongside the prison term, the convict was ordered to pay a fine of N5 million and perform 150 hours of community service, with his passports and $300 forfeited to the government.
