The Zamfara State Police Command has rescued nine children who were abducted by bandits from the Gora-Namaye Community in Maradun Local Government Area.
This information was revealed by ASP Yazid Abubakar, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, in a statement issued in Gusau.
The children, who had been sent by their parents to gather firewood in the bush, were intercepted and abducted by armed bandits.
The joint police and security agencies conducted a search and rescue operation, leading to the safe recovery of the children.
The police spokesperson further mentioned that the victims have been reunited with their families without any conditions.
Efforts to apprehend the culprits and bring them to justice are ongoing. This incident occurred following a recent attack by bandits in the same Maradun LGA, resulting in the loss of innocent lives.
