The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has raised concerns about the federal government’s lack of sufficient consultation regarding the removal of petrol subsidy.
The party expressed its position in a communique issued after a retreat organized for the PDP’s federal lawmakers-elect in Bauchi state.
President Bola Tinubu had mentioned the end of the petrol subsidy regime in his inaugural speech on Monday.
The proposed subsidy removal has sparked national discussions, especially with petrol prices exceeding N500 per litre in many states.
