Tinubu vows to enhance welfare and security of Nigerians

During a meeting with the Progressive Governors Forum led by Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, President Bola Tinubu affirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare and security of Nigerians through the implementation of economic policies that prioritize the needs of the people.

He specifically promised to establish a better national minimum wage that takes into account the current economic situation.

The meeting, held at the State House in Abuja, saw Tinubu stressing the importance of federal and state governments collaborating on the minimum wage review.

He emphasized the need for careful consideration of the arithmetic and revenue implications, emphasizing the necessity of strengthening revenue sources.

Tinubu also urged the governors to leverage their positions to make a positive impact on the lives of the people and assured them of his open-door policy to address challenges and find solutions collectively.

Vice President Kashim Shettima called for support from the governors on issues such as oil subsidy removal and multiple exchange rates, while Governor Uzodinma expressed support for the President’s prioritization of the economy and people’s welfare.
