Senator Shehu Sani shares account of surviving assassination attempt during El-Rufai’s tenure

Former Senator Shehu Sani, who previously represented Kaduna Central in the 8th Senate, has shared the details of an assassination attempt he experienced during the tenure of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

Speaking in an interview in Abuja on Thursday, Sani stated that he would not be silenced by threats or intimidation from speaking truth to power.

He revealed that his political adversaries orchestrated an investigation into his educational qualifications, aiming to prosecute him and remove him from the Senate.

Sani recounted that armed assailants attacked his office and that he was constantly followed by APC (All Progressives Congress) thugs.

He credited divine intervention for his survival during El-Rufai’s administration from 2015 to 2023.

Sani further accused El-Rufai of leaving a legacy of debt, terrorism, and kidnappings in Kaduna State, describing his eight-year tenure as a period of affliction, pure evil, and tyranny.

He also criticized El-Rufai for promoting religious fanaticism and alleged mistreatment of the people of Southern Kaduna.

Sani warned that El-Rufai’s association with Bola Tinubu could be problematic, comparing it to having a snake in the room.
