The Niger State Police Command has successfully apprehended Akinnowonu Damilola Victoria, an online businesswoman accused of defrauding more than one hundred individuals out of N150 million.
The suspect reportedly tricked her victims into believing that their ordered goods were confiscated by customs officials.
The spokesperson for the command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the arrest in a statement released on June 2, 2023.

According to the statement, the suspect operated an online business for approximately a year, advertising various items such as clothing, bags, shoes, phones, laptops, and electronics.
Preliminary investigations revealed that she accumulated a backlog of orders she could not fulfill and deceived customers by claiming that her merchandise was seized.
So far, around 72 victims have come forward, with a total debt estimated at N150 million. The case is currently under investigation, and the suspect will face prosecution once the inquiry concludes.
