The recent fuel scarcity that has gripped the nation comes as no surprise after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared the end of fuel subsidies during his inauguration.
Tinubu, who had made it clear during his campaign that his administration would eliminate fuel subsidies regardless of protests, now faces criticism.
Kenneth Okonkwo, the spokesperson for the Labour Party’s Obidatti Presidential campaign council, has asserted that the President did not write his own speech.

Okonkwo argues that the speech must have been crafted by brilliant professors in the APC camp, as it contradicts Tinubu’s previous statements.
He emphasized the need for Tinubu to personally address the public and clarify his intentions, highlighting the discrepancy between his promises of consultation and dialogue and the immediate removal of fuel subsidies.
